1. Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice
CashTalks provides general financial education. The Service — and any output produced by our AI guide, Penny — is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, accounting, legal, or tax advice. CashTalks is not a licensed financial adviser, broker-dealer, mortgage broker, lender, credit-counseling agency, debt-settlement company, debt collector, insurance company, certified financial planner, certified public accountant, or tax preparer. We do not act as a fiduciary to you.
Penny’s responses are generated by large-language models and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Verify any information before acting on it. Decisions about credit, debt, mortgages, insurance, investments, and taxes should be made in consultation with a qualified, licensed professional who knows your specific facts and circumstances.
2. Not a Credit Repair Organization
CashTalks is not a “credit repair organization” within the meaning of the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (15 U.S.C. §1679 et seq.) or any analogous state statute. We do not represent that we can improve your credit score, remove accurate information from your credit report, or negotiate with creditors on your behalf. Free help is available from nonprofit credit counselors and from the government — for example, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the U.S. government’s consumer credit resources.
3. Compensation and Conflicts of Interest
CashTalks is a lead-generation and educational service. When you elect to be connected with a third-party Partner (for example, a debt-relief provider, lender, or financial-services company), CashTalks may receive a per-lead, per-click, per-call, or per-sale fee from that Partner. The amount we receive can vary between Partners and over time, and this creates a potential conflict of interest: we may be more likely to surface offers from Partners that pay us more.
We take the following steps to mitigate that conflict:
- Penny’s educational responses are not gated on whether you click a Partner offer.
- We do not allow Partners to influence the content of our prompts or our model selection.
- We will surface a Partner offer only when the user’s described situation is plausibly served by that Partner’s product, based on the qualification fields we maintain.
- You are never required to share your contact information with a Partner. You can use the Service for educational purposes only.
For specific compensation arrangements with a Partner, contact legal@cashtalks.org.
4. Partner Offers
Partners are independent third parties. CashTalks does not control any Partner’s products, eligibility criteria, pricing, terms, customer service, or privacy practices, and we make no representations or warranties about any Partner offer. You should evaluate any Partner offer carefully and read the Partner’s own disclosures and terms before agreeing to anything.
5. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses large-language-model providers to generate Penny’s responses. Model output:
- can be confidently wrong (“hallucinate”);
- can reflect biases present in the training data;
- may be out of date with respect to interest rates, regulations, tax brackets, and program eligibility; and
- does not know your full financial picture, identity, jurisdiction, or risk tolerance unless you tell us.
We add safety checks and human-reviewed prompts, but no AI system is perfect. Treat Penny as a knowledgeable starting point for research, not as a substitute for a licensed professional.
6. TCPA / Communications Consent
If you elect to be connected with a Partner and provide a phone number, you may receive contact from that Partner. By providing your phone number and clicking the consent control on the lead-submission form, you agree to be contacted by the Partner identified at that step, at the number you provided, including through automated telephone dialing systems and prerecorded or artificial voice messages, at the Partner’s discretion. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can revoke this consent at any time by contacting the Partner or by submitting a Data Request to CashTalks.
7. Forward-Looking Statements
Examples used in conversations (savings amounts, payoff timelines, APR ranges) are illustrative and based on the information you provide. They are not guarantees of any outcome and are not specific recommendations.
